I believe it is important that the information on PTSD: Beyond What You See is as accessible as possible to people with a wide range of needs and ways of using the web.
The website was designed and tested with reference to the accessibility principles of Israeli Standard 5568 at Level AA and the relevant WCAG guidelines. The aim of these adjustments is to support use of the website with a keyboard, screen readers, and other assistive technologies.
Accessibility features implemented on the website include:
- Keyboard navigation with a clear visual focus indicator.
- A skip link to the main content.
- Semantic structure for headings, navigation, and content regions.
- Accessible names and labels for links, buttons, and form fields.
- Support for screen readers and other assistive technologies.
- Responsive layout and reflow, including at 200% browser zoom.
- Mobile-friendly presentation.
- Right-to-left support for Hebrew.
- Color contrast and clear keyboard focus styling.
- Support for the prefers-reduced-motion system preference to reduce animations and interface movement.
- Accessible status messages for search results, form errors, and interface changes.
The website has been tested using automated accessibility tools and manual checks, including keyboard navigation, zoom and reflow, narrow-screen layouts, and basic testing with the NVDA screen reader.
Despite efforts to make the entire website accessible, there may still be components or situations in which the experience is not optimal. If you encounter an accessibility problem or have difficulty using any part of the website, I would be glad to hear from you and will try to address the issue.
